
Dr. Anupreeta More works on gravitational lensing and gravitational waves. Her research interests include using strong lensing to study dark matter, cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution, transients (e.g. supernovae, kilonovae), black holes and neutron stars. Her expertise lies in working on large optical surveys (e.g. CFHTLS, DES, HSC and LSST) and searching for strong lenses and modelling them using traditional as well as machine learning algorithms.
In the recent past, she has delved into the detection of a) lensed gravitational wave signals (e.g. impact of microlensing, DM substructure, constraints on GW merger rates) b) enabling Multi-messenger astronomy (e.g. detectability and characterisation of lensed BNS/NSBH - Kilonovae) and c) GW detector characterisation (e.g. characterisation of varied types of noise features called glitches and distinguishing BBH signals from them)
She is the co-PI of Space Warps, a citizen science project to discover strong lenses (spacewarps.org, active since 2013). She is currently the co-chair of the Strong Lensing Science Collaboration in Rubin LSST (https://lsst-stronglensing.org/).
